Sister Jacqueline has been a member of the Franciscan Sisters of Mary (FSM) for 65 years. Over the years she has held varied positions including health care, formation ministry for new members, and organizing and implementing retreats and pilgrimages to the Holy Land. She served two-terms as President of FSM congregation. During her tenure as president, Sr. Jacqueline was often inspired by the quote from Chapter 10 of Matthew’s Gospel, “The gift you have received, give as a gift”. While in office, she initiated conversations and spearheaded a group of five religious congregations of women to plan for the growing number of elderly and infirmed sisters. She led a team that included St. Andrews and in 1999 The Sarah Community (TSC), a continuing life care community for women religious and laity was dedicated. Today, thousands of seniors have been impacted by Sr. Jacqueline’s vision.
Sister continues to serve today through providing basic household items from garage sales, flea markets and donations to women, children and families in need. Working with a companion FSM and through social workers, a life of promise, vitality and social healing is brought to those who are served. There isn’t a project too big for her to tackle and her volunteerism is rooted in a deep love for all persons of the world. In her spare time, Sister Jacqueline loves playing golf, garage sales and spending time with her cat, Chelsea.
