MAR Society
The Mary Alice Ryan Society recognizes a special group of people who have made provisions in their will, estate plan, charitable trust, endowment, or other planned gift to St. Andrew's Charitable Foundation to help impoverished seniors. Members of this group demonstrate a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for older adults struggling with food insecurity, health issues, social isolation, mobility and the activities of everyday living.
Who is Mary Alice Ryan?
After 38 years of service, Mary Alice retired from St. Andrew's Resources for Seniors in 2021. For 30 of those years, she served as the president and chief executive officer. She grew St. Andrew's from two senior living apartment buildings to 16 residential communities throughout the region plus home and community based services and a charitable foundation charged with serving low-income seniors.
She is nationally known for her expertise and innovation in senior housing and services, but more importantly she is known for her commitment and compassion for seniors. She dedicated her life's work to ensure that all seniors, no matter their socio-economic status, were well cared for, loved, and appreciated.
